HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - New Mexico claimed its first Conference USA Championship crown with a 3-0 shutout win over FIU. The Lobos will be making its 12th NCAA appearance, claiming the league's automatic bid to the 2016 NCAA Tournament. The bracket for the 48-team NCAA Tournament bracket will be announced Monday, Nov. 14, at 1 p.m. EST on NCAA.com.

After a scoreless first-half, All-Conference First-Team Niko Hansen scored his first of two goals by using a long pass from All-Tournament Offensive MVP Chris Wehan and dribbling it a couple of yards before eventually ripping it into the net in the 68th minute.
In 84th minute, Wehan doubled the Lobos' lead after securing a long pass in the middle of the field to force FIU's keeper to come out of the box and beat him one-on-one, tapping the ball into an open net. Wehan added his second score of the match when he slipped through multiple Panther defenders into the box, taking and making a shot from fifteen yards out.
The Panthers' entered the game on an eight-match unbeaten streak, including seven wins in a row that was the third-longest active streak in the nation.
