TEN: C-USA October Athletes of the Month

IRVING, Texas - Old Dominion junior Adam Moundir compiled five wins against ranked opponents in the month of October to earn the Conference USA Men's Tennis Athlete of the Month award. WKU freshman Natalia De Ugarte claimed the Women's Tennis Athlete of the Month accolade after posting a 14-5 mark and reaching the championship match in her flight at the Purdue Invitational.

Men's Tennis Athlete of the Month - Adam Moundir, Old Dominion, Jr., Luzern, Switzerland
In the month of October, Moundir knocked off a total of five nationally-ranked opponents, which was highlighted by defeating No. 9 Arthur Rinderknech of Texas A&M and No. 15 William Bushamuka of Kentucky on the same day. Moundir's magical run at the ITA Oracle Master's would end in the semifinals. Prior to that run, Moundir reeled off two impressive wins at the All-Americans, including over nationally ranked opponents. This is Moundir's first C-USA award of his career.

Women's Tennis Athlete of the Month - Natalia De Ugarte, WKU, Fr., Sante Cruz, Bolivia
De Ugarte went 2-1 in all three singles tournaments that she played in this fall. The Sante Cruz, Bolivia, native made it to the finals of her draws at both the Evansville and Purdue Invitational, respectively. In the Purdue Invitational second round, De Ugarte faced elimination after dropping set one to Miami (Ohio), but went on to force a second-set tiebreaker as she won 7-3 and then won set three, 6-2, which propelled her into the championship match of her flight. In doubles, facing her best competition in the ITA Ohio Valley Regional, De Ugarte swept the field with her partner Cindy Oest. The freshman worked to a 14-5 overall record this fall. This is De Ugarte's first C-USA award of her career.
