C-USA Men’s Golfer of the Week – R.J. Keur, UAB, Sr., North Charleston, S.C.
Keur ended his fall slate with a remarkable showing at a cold, windy Steelwood Collegiate Invitational. The senior captured the title by two strokes among a field of 66 competitors, which included the nation’s No. 1 golfer in Davis Riley of No. 1 Alabama. Keur and UAB also competed against two other top-50 student-athletes representing the Crimson Tide and No. 8 Kentucky. The senior carded a 6-under 210 (71-72-67), and registered a 30 with six birdies on the first nine holes of his final round. The 67 marked a tournament-low and guided the way for his fourth at or under par in five fall events. UAB finished sixth, and Keur earned the program’s first individual title since the 2016 C-USA Championship.
C-USA Women’s Golfer of the Week – Maggie Simmermacher, Old Dominion, Sr., Buenos Aires, Argentina
Old Dominion earned its second-consecutive top-4 finish to round out its fall season, led by Simmermacher who placed third with a 1-over 217 (71-72-74) at the Palmetto Intercollegiate. The senior marked her best finish of the fall and her ninth-career showing in the top-5. The Buenos Aires, Argentina, native topped the list of 90 competitors with 14 birdies in the tournament, while placing ahead of four golfers in the top-100. Old Dominion was slotted fourth of 17 squads in the event.
