VB: C-USA Championship Bracket Announced

IRVING, Texas – With the regular season in the books, eight squads have their eyes set on the 2017 Conference USA Volleyball Championship on Nov. 17-19 in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The bracket is set for next week’s action to be played at WKU’s E.A. Diddle Arena.

North Texas (26-2, 13-1 C-USA) and WKU (27-3, 13-1) were crowned C-USA Regular Season Co-Champions after crafting one-loss marks in league play. The Mean Green clinched a share of its first-ever regular season conference championship and will be the No. 1 seed next week, carrying a 14-game win streak to Kentucky. The Lady Toppers secured the second seed with their fourth-consecutive league title, the first program in C-USA history to do so.
 
Rice (21-7, 11-3) improved their record by one win from a year ago with a 3-2 victory over UTSA on Saturday to earn the No. 3 seed. The Roadrunners penned a 9-5 record in conference action, 11-15 overall, to grab the fourth seed.
 
Florida Atlantic swept Charlotte on Saturday to finish its regular season slate at 18-8 and 9-5 in C-USA play. This marks the third time in five years the Owls have won at least 18 matches, and netted the No. 5 seed.
 
Southern Miss (19-11, 9-5) holds the sixth seed following a sweep of FIU in its regular season finale. Charlotte (19-11, 6-8) will be taking its first C-USA Championship trip since 2014 as the seventh seed, and Marshall makes the cut at No. 8 with an 11-18 and 6-8 showing in 2017.
