MSOC: Old Dominion Wins 2017 C-USA Championship

NORFOLK, Va. - Host and No. 2 seed Old Dominion clinched the 2017 C-USA Men's Soccer Championship with a 1-0 win over No. 4 Charlotte.

Defensive MVP Mertcan Akar made two crucial saves to earn his third-straight clean sheet in the tournament, bringing the 2017 Golden Glove winner to seven shutouts in conference play. Offensive MVP Niko Klosterhalfen scored the lone goal for the Monarchs in the 27th minute to earn Old Dominion the championship title.

Old Dominion received C-USA's automatic bid to the 2017 Men's Soccer NCAA Tournament.
