NORFOLK, Va. – No. 6 seed Southern Miss upset No. 2 seed Florida Atlantic 1-0 to earn their first trip to the C-USA Championship game in program history. Golden Eagles’ Stephanie Garcia scored the game-winner in the 41st minute.

The game was scoreless until the end of the first half neared. Florida Atlantic held a 16-5 advantage on shots but the Golden Eagles capitalized on a corner kick to secure the victory. Kendell Mindnich had three saves for Southern Miss to become the program’s all-time single-season shutout leader with seven.
 
The Golden Eagles will face the winner between No. 1 North Texas and No. 4 Louisiana Tech in the championship match of the 2018 Air Force Reserve Conference USA Women’s Soccer Championship on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 11 a.m. ET. All games are streamed on ESPN+.
