DALLAS – Old Dominion recorded its fourth C-USA Player of the Week in a row as Ahmad Caver led the Monarchs to wins at Richmond and against Morgan State. The Monarchs are only the second team in league history to string together four-consecutive C-USA Player of the Week awards (Charlotte, 2005). UTEP continued adding hardware to the trophy case as Houston native Efe Odigie gobbled up 20 total rebounds and his second freshman accolade to bring the Miner weekly award total to four on the season. All C-USA weekly awards are presented by Top of the World. Awards are chosen by a vote from a media panel representing the 14 member schools.
 
Player of the Week
Ahmad Caver, Old Dominion
Senior, 6-2, 175, G, Atlanta
Caver led Old Dominion to two more victories, while averaging 20.0 points, 8.0 assists, 1.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game. Caver and the Monarchs have now won eight-straight contests. For the season, the senior leads the Monarchs in scoring, assists and steals. Old Dominion ends 2018 with a 10-3 record and victories over No. 25 Syracuse, VCU, Northern Iowa, James Madison, William & Mary, Richmond and Navy. It is the first C-USA weekly award in Caver’s decorated career.

Freshman of the Week
Efe Odigie, UTEP
Freshman, 6-11, 245, F, Houston
Odigie pieced together a productive two-game set, while manufacturing his fifth career double-double at the Don Haskins Sun Bowl Invitational. The big man averaged 15.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per contest, while shooting 50 percent from the field. The Texan opened his weekend with an 18-point performance and was one rebound shy of a double-double against Norfolk State. The frosh’s encore was a 12-point, 11-board showing in a victory over Wyoming for the fifth double-double in his young career. It is the second C-USA weekly award in Odigie’s career.
