IRVING, Texas – Mario Carmona brought home Rice’s first individual title in two years and shot a career-low to earn Conference USA Men’s Golfer of the Week. Maria Donado captured UAB’s lowest total for the sixth time in nine tournaments this season to claim Women’s Golfer of the Week.

C-USA Men’s Golfer of the Week – Mario Carmona, Rice, Sr., Houston, Texas
Carmona became Rice’s first individual victory in two years after claiming the ORU/SFA Spring Break Challenge title. The senior carded a three-round total of five under 208 (68-72-68) to top the field by two strokes. The pair of under-par rounds were his 14^th and 15^th of the season, and his 54-hole total tied a career-low. The Houston product led the field in Par-4 scoring at 3-under, while firing 16 birdies and 51 pars in the event. He has now registered five rounds of 69 or lower on the year. This is the senior’s third weekly award nod in four seasons as an Owl.
 
C-USA Women’s Golfer of the Week – Maria Donado, UAB, Jr., Bogota, Columbia
Donado claimed her fourth top-15 finish of the season over the weekend at the ‘Bama Beach Bash. The junior jumped two spots in the rankings on the final day as she shot her third-lowest round of the year with a 73. She became the Blazers’ lowest medalist for the sixth time in nine tournaments. She claimed 14^th of more than 50 golfers, while UAB took sixth in the event. This is Donado’s first weekly award of her career.
