IRVING, Texas – Conference USA Women’s Golfer of the Week went to Angie Anghelescu as her first-ever individual victory lifted UTEP to its first tournament win in nearly two years. Florida Atlantic’s Ricky Hendler notched a top-10 finish with three under-par rounds to earn Men’s Golfer of the Week.

C-USA Men’s Golfer of the Week – Ricky Hendler, Florida Atlantic, Sr., Sarasota, Florida
Hendler secured a 10^th-place finish at the FAU Spring Championship over the weekend as he fired a 212 (71-70-71) at Osprey Point. Hendler shot even par on par threes and 2-under on par fours to register three of his lowest four rounds of the season. His season stroke average now sits at 74.2. The C-USA weekly award marks the first of his tenure with the Owls.

C-USA Women’s Golfer of the Week – Abbie Anghelescu, UTEP, So., Wolfe Island, Ontario, Canada
Anghelescu crafted one of the most memorable performances of her career as a Miner at the Little Rock/ASU Invitational this week. The sophomore shot a career-low 2-over 218 (69-76-73) en route to a tie for first, then claimed sole victory in a playoff. Her 69 carded in the first round tied her career low, and her overall score matched the lowest 3 rounds by a Miner this season. The Canada product lifted UTEP to its first tournament title since October 2016 and contributed to its lowest score (878) of the year. The weekly nod marks the first of her career.
