DALLAS – FIU’s Mohamed Conde played an important role in two victories for the Panthers, totaling four points to be named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week. After falling on opposite sides of a defensive battle that ended in a 0-0 tie, No. 5 Charlotte’s Elliot Panicco and (RV) Marshall’s Illal Osmanu share Defensive Player of the Week honors. All weekly awards are presented by Top of the World.
 
C-USA Offensive Player of the Week – Mohamed Conde, FIU, Sr., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Conde tallied four points on the week in two wins over FGCU and No. 16 Kentucky. The senior logged two assists versus the Eagles to help FIU to a 3-2 victory in double overtime. Then, on the road against Kentucky, Conde netted the game-winning goal with less than two minutes left in regulation to defeat a Wildcats squad that had not dropped a regular-season match at home since October 2017. His efforts helped the Panthers remain unbeaten and atop the C-USA standings.
 
C-USA Co-Defensive Player of the Week – Elliot Panicco, Charlotte, R-Sr., Huntersville, North Carolina
In a league clash of outstanding defenses, Panicco did his part in goal, recording a clean sheet against visiting Marshall. The redshirt senior made five saves, his most in a match this season, to hold the Herd scoreless in a 0-0 draw. His performance preserved the 49ers unbeaten season and their second-place spot in the league.
 
C-USA Co-Defensive Player of the Week – Illal Osmanu, Marshall, Sr., Accra, Ghana
On the other side of the 0-0 tie versus Charlotte, Osmanu proved to be a defensive stalwart for the Herd. The senior was pivotal in shutting down the 49ers on the road, playing all 110 minutes and holding the opposition to just two shots on goal. The result marked the first time Marshall held Charlotte without a goal since 2015.
