DALLAS – For the second time this season, No. 20 Marshall swept the Conference USA Men’s Soccer Player of the Week awards thanks to a four-point performance across two wins for
Milo Yosef and a clean sheet in a conference victory for
Paulo Pita. All weekly awards are presented by Top of the World.
C-USA Offensive Player of the Week – Milo Yosef, Marshall, R-Fr., Aachen, Germany
Yosef continued his offensive dominance in two wins for the Thundering Herd. The redshirt freshman scored his conference-leading 11
th goal of the season in a 2-1 win at Oakland. Against No. 15 Kentucky, the Aachen, Germany, native assisted on the game-winner in the 64
th minute. Despite not scoring a goal, Yosef was a major factor in the key conference victory as he continually pushed the ball downfield and pressured the Wildcats defense.
C-USA Defensive Player of the Week – Paulo Pita, Marshall, R-Sr., Santos, Sao Paulo, Brazil
Pita tallied seven saves and allowed just one goal on the week in two wins for Marshall. On the road in a 2-1 win over Oakland, the redshirt senior totaled two saves in his 11
th victory of the year. He followed it up with an impressive Senior Day performance, tallying five saves in a shutout of No. 15 Kentucky. The clean sheet was his sixth of the season as he finished with a 0.50 goals against average and a .875 save percentage on the week.
