NORFOLK, Va. – No. 3 seed FIU avenged their regular-season loss to No. 6 seed South Carolina, defeating the Gamecocks 3-0 to advance in the 2019 Conference USA Men’s Soccer Championship. With the Panthers and Wildcats moving on, 2019 marks the first year since 2009 that the top four seeds will meet in the C-USA Championship semifinals.

After a first half that ended in a 0-0 draw, FIU came out hot, scoring three goals after the break to propel them to the next round. 2019 C-USA Golden Boot honoree Alessandro Campoy struck first for the Panthers in the 46^th minute. Xavi Olmos Ferris netted the insurance goal five minutes later. Andoni Garrogerricaechebarria scored FIU’s third and final goal of the match. South Carolina’s Nick Brady made four saves in the loss.
 
FIU will face No. 2 seed Charlotte at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, Nov. 15. The two teams played to a scoreless draw in the regular season.
