DENTON, Texas – In a game broken up by a weather delay, Megan Greene’s brace propelled No. 4 seed Charlotte to the semifinals of the 2019 Conference USA Women’s Soccer Championship.

WKU struck first on a goal from Chandler Backes in the 21st minute. Greene followed it up with two unanswered scores – one in the first half and one in the second half – to secure the 2-1 victory for the 49ers. Abby Stapleton made five saves to preserve Charlotte’s narrow victory.
 
Charlotte will take on top-seeded Florida Atlantic 4:30 p.m. CT on Friday, Nov. 8 in the semifinals round. The teams have not met since 2017 when the 49ers won 3-2 on their home turf during the regular season.
