DENTON, Texas – No. 1 seed Florida Atlantic survived in a double overtime thriller over No. 4 seed Charlotte to advance to the championship match of the 2019 Conference USA Women’s Soccer Championship, their first trip since 2016.

The Owls dominated the first half, taking a 3-0 lead off goals from Pernille Velta, 2019 C-USA Midfielder of the Year Mary O’Hara and Tiril Haga. Charlotte came out firing after the break to tie it up at 3-3. Ashton McKane tallied a brace and Ari Maibodi netted the equalizer. The two teams took turns shooting until Florida Atlantic’s Elisha Holmes came through with the golden goal in the 103^rd minute.
 
The Owls will face the winner between No. 2 seed North Texas and No. 3 seed Rice in the finals, slated for Noon CT on Sunday, November 10. Florida Atlantic defeated both teams in the regular season.
