DALLAS -- 2018-19 Conference USA Regular-Season Champion No. 24 Rice adds to its already historic campaign by hoisting its highest amount of All-Conference USA selections in program history. Rice and UAB were the only schools to produce three student-athletes to the all-conference roster with two first-team nods for the Owls and two second-team picks for the Blazers. Voting was comprised of two votes per institution -- the women's basketball head coach and a media representative.
 
Rice is represented by C-USA Preseason Player of the Year junior Erica Ogwumike and redshirt sophomore Nancy Mulkey on the All-Conference First Team. Seven other C-USA members boast players on the first unit, including one for regular-season runner-up UAB in junior Rachael Childress. Reigning C-USA Champion WKU lists redshirt junior Dee Givens and Middle Tennessee features senior transfer A’Queen Hayes as both teams tied for third place in the final regular-season standings. The first team also rosters Louisiana Tech senior Kierra Anthony, Marshall senior Shayna Gore, North Texas redshirt senior Terriell Bradley and Southern Miss junior Shonte Hailes. Bradley, Ogwumike and Childress are all first-team repeat honorees.
 
Eleven programs secured at least one player on the first or second squads. Rice found its third nod in second-team pick senior Nicole Iademarco. UAB also placed senior Deanna Kuzmanic and junior Miyah Barnes on the second roster. Middle Tennessee and WKU garnered second-team products in senior Alex Johnson and sophomore Raneem Elgedawy. Charlotte, Louisiana Tech, Marshall, North Texas, Old Dominion, Southern Miss and UTSA collected one selection each.
 
The league’s All-Freshman and All-Defensive squads are each comprised of five various C-USA institutions. The defensive unit lists all-leaguers Mulkey, Givens and Charlotte’s Laia Raventós.
 
The Conference USA superlative awards for Freshman of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Newcomer of the Year and Sixth Player of the Year will be announced Tuesday. The C-USA Player and Coach of the Year, presented by Ready Nutrition will be unveiled on Wednesday.
