MBB: C-USA Releases All-Academic Team

DALLAS – Five Conference USA student-athletes were selected to the 2019 InTouch Credit Union All-Academic Team for their achievements on and off the court. Each of the five is a first-time honoree. Four programs are represented with UTSA boasting two nods.

David Draper, the most veteran player for the Mean Green, is a member of the North Texas Honors College and graduated with honors in December 2018. He boasts a 3.801 grade-point average (GPA) and is currently pursuing his master’s in business science.
 
Old Dominion’s Aaron Carver is one of four Monarchs to start every game this season on their way to clinching the regular-season title. Carver holds a 3.47 GPA as a civil engineering technology major. He won the Paul Webb award, given to the player who best represents Old Dominion.
 
Kevin Holland earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southern Miss in 3.5 years and will receive his master’s in sport management in May. He has maintained a 3.77 GPA while guiding the Golden Eagles from three seasons of 8-9 wins to 16 last year and 18 this year.
 
UTSA’s Giovanni De Nicolao will graduate with his undergraduate degree in May in just three years. The kinesiology/exercise science major has a 3.76 GPA. The junior is just one of five players in Roadrunners’ history with at least 700 points, 300 rebounds, 300 assists and 140 steals.
 
Teammate Byron Frohnen compiled a 3.21 GPA in mechanical engineering. He is one of the top rebounders in UTSA history. The Las Vegas, Nevada, native ranks among Roadrunners’ record holders in games started, rebounds and points.
