MSOC: Sept. 9 Players of the Week

DALLAS – No. 17 Charlotte swept the Conference USA Men’s Soccer weekly honors after two wins over two powerhouses, including nationally-ranked Coastal Carolina. Teddy Chaouche contributed to both 49ers’ goals against the Chanticleers, including scoring the game winner, earning the offensive award. Patrick Hogan served as a defensive force in Charlotte’s two victories and received the defensive award. All weekly awards are presented by Top of the World.
 
C-USA Offensive Player of the Week – Teddy Chaouche, Charlotte, Sr., Carpentras, France
Against No. 12 Coastal Carolina, Chaouche recorded three points, propelling the 49ers to a 2-1 double-overtime victory. The senior assisted on the game-tying goal that came just four minutes before the end of regulation. Chaouche then capitalized on the momentum going into overtime and scored the golden goal in the 104th minute of the match as Charlotte toppled one of the top teams in the country. The victory handed the Chanticleers their first loss of the season.
 
C-USA Defensive Player of the Week – Patrick Hogan, Charlotte, R-Jr., Charlotte, North Carolina
Hogan anchored a 49ers defense that conceded just one goal over 194 minutes of play on the week. The redshirt-junior helped keep 2018 NCAA Tournament participant High Point scoreless in the 49ers 1-0 shutout victory. His defensive efforts continued into the second match of the week against Coastal Carolina, holding the 12th-ranked team in the country to a single goal as Charlotte fought for the 2-1 win.
