DALLAS – Florida Atlantic sophomore
Fatimah Westbrook posted three first-place finishes, including two individual titles, at the FAU Fun Invite to earn the C-USA Swimmer of the Week award.

Maha Gouda earned a first place finish at the FIU Sprint Invite and also qualified for the 2020 Olympics to win this week’s C-USA Diver of the Week honors. All C-USA weekly awards are presented by Top of the World Headwear.
SWIMMERS OF THE WEEK
Fatimah Westbrook, Florida Atlantic, So., Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Westbrook was dominant in her sprinting events at the FAU Fun Invite, which included two other C-USA members. The 2018-19 C-USA Freshman of the Year delivered two first-place finishes, with those coming in the 50 Breast (30.07) and 50 Free (24.31). Westbrook also played a big role in her team tallying a first place showing in the 300 free relay.
DIVER OF THE WEEK
Maha Gouda, FIU, So. Alexandria, Egypt
From the 1-meter springboard, Gouda took the top spot with a score of 309.80 at the 13-team FIU Sprint Invite. Prior to that meet, she punched her ticket for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, as Gouda won gold at the African Games for the 10-meter platform event. Along with qualifying for the Olympics in the 10-meter event, Gouda won gold in the 3-meter mixed synchro and 3-meter women synchro. The trip to the Olympics will mark Gouda's second appearance, as she represented her home country of Egypt at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio. In 2016, Gouda became the first Egyptian female to qualify and compete in the Olympic Games and Youth Olympics.
