DALLAS – A pair of outstanding performances led to C-USA Co-Player of the Week awards for North Texas junior guard
Javion Hamlet and WKU junior guard

Cobe Williams enjoyed a career day on the road at WKU to snag C-USA Freshman of the Week honors. Awards are chosen by a vote from a media panel representing the 14 member schools. All C-USA weekly awards are presented by Top of the World.
Co-Player of the Week
JAVION HAMLET, NORTH TEXAS
Redshirt Junior, 6-4, 191, G, Memphis, Tennessee
Hamlet led North Texas to its first regular season league title in 31 years by averaging 19.5 points, 8.5 assists with a 2.8 assist/turnover ratio and 5.0 rebounds in a pair of Group 1 victories at FIU and against WKU in the Super Pit. In the win over the Toppers, Hamlet led all scorers with 25 points and nine assists in a seesaw bout that saw the Mean Green capture the C-USA regular-season title. North Texas scored 30 points in the final five minutes of each half and the overtime period combined; Hamlet was responsible by either scoring or assisting on 22 of the 30 points. It is Hamlet’s second career C-USA weekly award (1-27-2020).
Co-Player of the Week
TAVEION HOLLINGSWORTH, WKU
Junior, 6-2, 165, G, Lexington, Kentucky
Hollingsworth averaged 32.5 points in a split of two overtime games against the top two teams in the league last week. In Thursday’s 95-91 overtime home win over Louisiana Tech, Hollingsworth poured in a career-high 43 points in 44 minutes to keep WKU’s hopes for a regular-season title alive. He made 11 of 18 shots from the field, 4 of 7 3-pointers and 17 of 19 free throws. After WKU fell behind by 15 with 3:23 to play, Hollingsworth scored 17 points over the rest of regulation, including a game-tying 3 with two seconds left. His 43 points were the eighth-most ever by a Hilltopper and the most since 1971, as well as the ninth-most ever by a C-USA player. On Sunday, Hollingsworth had a team-high 22 points with four steals in WKU’s overtime loss to North Texas. Across the week, the junior averaged 42.5 minutes per game, as well as four rebounds, three assists and three steals per outing. It is the fourth C-USA weekly award in in Hollingsworth’s career and the second Player of the Week honor (1-20-2020).

COBE WILLIAMS, LOUISIANA TECH
Freshman, 5-11, 175, G, Dallas, Texas
Williams enjoyed a career game in Bowling Green, Kentucky, this past Thursday. The Dallas native came off the bench to post career highs in points (13) and rebounds (9). The freshman also tied his career high in minutes with 25. It is the first C-USA weekly award in Williams’s career and the first for a LA Tech player this season.
