Softball Players of the Week

South Florida sweeps the Softball Players of the Week honors after a 3-1 week that included a win over No. 14 Iowa and a pair of conference victories against Southern Miss. Third baseman Ginny Georgantas and pitcher Corin Tassio have helped the Bulls win 12 of their last 13 games.

HITTER OF THE WEEK
GINNY GEORGANTAS, SOUTH FLORIDA
Senior, 3B, Lockport, Ill.
Georgantas batted .583 (7-for-12) in four games last week as the Bulls went 3-1. She hit safely in each outing, recording three multiple hit games. Georgantas had a double, a home run, four RBI and five runs scored on the week.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
CORIN TASSIO, SOUTH FLORIDA
Sophomore, RHP, Sarasota, Fla.
Tassio ran her consecutive win streak to six by picking up the victory in all three of her appearances last week, including a win over No. 14 Iowa and two victories against Southern Miss. In 17 1/3 innings pitched on the week, she allowed just three runs and struck out 14 with only four walks. .
