BOCA RATON, Florida – No. 2 seed North Texas cruised past No. 7 seed Middle Tennessee in a 4-1 Mean Green victory. Only two North Texas players handled the scoring, with Taylor Torres earning the third hat trick in C-USA Championship history and first since Kylie Hayes of Memphis did so against Southern Miss in 2007.

Brooke Lampe of North Texas opened up the scoring in the second minute, and 23 minutes later fellow teammate Torres scored her first goal of the game and her fourth game-winning goal of the season. Torres scored her second goal in the 61st minute and, with three minutes left in the game, scored her third to the complete hat trick. 
 
Middle Tennessee’s Taylor Hatch scored the Blue Raiders' solo goal in the 41st minute, with an assist from Carolin Engelhard.
 
North Texas will face the winner of Florida Atlantic-UAB in the semifinals on Friday, Nov. 3 at 1:30 p.m. EST. The game will be live CUSA TV.
