Old Dominion had two offensive and two defensive selections.  Quarterback Steven Williams (1,528 passing yards) became the second-youngest signal-caller in FBS history when he took over starting duties in late September and he was aided through the season by the protection of offensive lineman Isaac Weaver.  Linebacker Jordan Young finished second on the team in tackles (85) and is joined by defensive back Joe Joe Headen (36 tackles, two interceptions) on the rookie squad.

Southern Miss is represented by a pair of defenders, an offensive lineman and a punter.  Linebacker Racheem Boothe ranks second on the Golden Eagles in tackles (70), while adding 8.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks.  Defensive lineman Jacques Turner (8.5 TFL’s, four sacks), offensive lineman Arvin Fletcher and punter Zac Everett complete USM’s selections.

WKU had selections on offense, defense and special teams.  Offensive lineman Tyler Witt, defensive back Devon Key (second on the team with 85 tackles, along with four TFL’s and one interception) and long snapper Ben Reeder (more than 100 perfect snaps) represent the Hilltoppers on the all-rookie unit.

Rice’s three selections consisted of two offensive and one special teams player.  Wide receiver Aaron Cephus emerged as one of the nation’s top big play threats with six plays of 50 yards or longer (third among FBS players) and he is joined by tight end Jordan Myers and punt returner Austin Trammell on the team.

Florida Atlantic, Louisiana Tech, Marshall, Middle Tennessee and UTSA all placed two players on the squad.  The Owls are represented by wide receiver Willie Wright, the team leader in receptions (49) and receiving yards (586), and defensive end Leighton McCarthy.  Defensive back Amik Robertson (58 tackles, four interceptions, 10 pass breakups) and offensive lineman Kody Russey are the Bulldogs selections.  The Thundering Herd put running back Tyler King (714 rushing yards and six touchdowns) and offensive lineman Tarik Adams on the team. Defensive back Reed Blankenship and defensive lineman Jordan Ferguson headline Middle Tennessee’s picks.  Blankenship has 63 tackles, 7 TFL’s and a pair of interceptions, while Ferguson has 24 tackles and 4.5 TFL’s.  UTSA listed placekicker Jared Sackett (19-of-22 field goals) and defensive lineman Jaylon Haynes on the rookie team.

The league’s individual awards will be released Wednesday, December 6.  Conference USA will conclude the 2017 season by sending a record nine teams to bowl games.
