Conference USA has announced its 2017 All-Freshman football team, as selected by the league's 14 head football coaches. Old Dominion and Southern Miss produced a league-high four players on the team, while Rice and WKU each had three players selected to the league’s freshman team. All told, 13 C-USA teams were represented on the all-freshman squad.

Old Dominion had two offensive and two defensive selections. Quarterback
Steven Williams (1,528 passing yards) became the second-youngest signal-caller in FBS history when he took over starting duties in late September and he was aided through the season by the protection of offensive lineman

Jordan Young finished second on the team in tackles (85) and is joined by defensive back
Joe Joe Headen (36 tackles, two interceptions) on the rookie squad.
Southern Miss is represented by a pair of defenders, an offensive lineman and a punter. Linebacker
Racheem Boothe ranks second on the Golden Eagles in tackles (70), while adding 8.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. Defensive lineman

Rice’s three selections consisted of two offensive and one special teams player. Wide receiver
Aaron Cephus emerged as one of the nation’s top big play threats with six plays of 50 yards or longer (third among FBS players) and he is joined by tight end

Florida Atlantic, Louisiana Tech, Marshall, Middle Tennessee and UTSA all placed two players on the squad. The Owls are represented by wide receiver
Willie Wright, the team leader in receptions (49) and receiving yards (586), and defensive end

Jordan Ferguson headline Middle Tennessee’s picks. Blankenship has 63 tackles, 7 TFL’s and a pair of interceptions, while Ferguson has 24 tackles and 4.5 TFL’s. UTSA listed placekicker

The league’s individual awards will be released Wednesday, December 6. Conference USA will conclude the 2017 season by sending a record nine teams to bowl games.
