MBB: All-Conference Teams Announced

DALLAS – Players from five different schools are represented on the 2019-20 All-Conference USA men's basketball first team, featuring one senior and four juniors. Louisiana Tech guard DaQuan Bracey is the lone senior and is joined by UTEP junior forward Bryson Williams and junior guards Javion Hamlet of North Texas, Jhivan Jackson of UTSA and Taveion Hollingsworth of WKU to comprise the league’s first team unit. Voting on the awards was done by the C-USA head coaches and media members in each conference city.

Guard play was instrumental throughout the league again this season and that is reflected by that position taking 11 of the 15 spots on the first, second and third team All-Conference squads. Overall, eight different schools placed at least one player on at least one of the three units. The group is compiled of four seniors, eight juniors, two sophomores and one freshman.

Charlotte’s Jahmir Young, an eight-time C-USA Freshman of the Week selection, headlines the conference’s All-Freshman team, joined by standout rookie performers from Marshall, Middle Tennessee, UAB and WKU.

The C-USA six member All-Defensive Team consists of stop down standouts from Charlotte, FIU, Louisiana Tech, Marshall, Old Dominion, and WKU.

The Conference USA Superlative awards for Freshman of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Newcomer of the Year and Sixth Man of the Year will be announced Tuesday. The C-USA Player of the Year and the C-USA Gene Bartow Coach of the Year will be unveiled on Wednesday.
