DALLAS – Rice’s Anota Adekunle who had a .483 hitting percentage, North Texas’ Sh’Diamond Holly who averaged 2.67 blocks per set, Rice’s Carly Graham who had a total of 54 assists, and UTEP’s Sara Pustahija who posted 19 kills in five sets, earned 2022 Volleyball Player of the Week honors presented by Blenders Eyewear.

C-USA Offensive Player of the Week – Anota Adekunle, Rice, 5Sr., Humble, Texas
Adekunle helped lead the Owls to a 3-2 comeback victory at UTEP. She posted 17 kills while hitting .483. She also added six digs and five blocks to record 19.5 points in the match. After the Owls went down 2-0, she led the comeback tallying six kills in the third set. With the fifth set tied at 14, she gave Rice the lead with her final kill, and the Owls earned the victory one point later.
 
C-USA Defensive Player of the Week – Sh’Diamond Holly, North Texas, Jr., Morgan City, La.
Holly dominated at the net in North Texas’ three-set sweep of Louisiana Tech on Sunday. She led her team with eight total blocks and six kills. The junior from Morgan City, Louisiana, averaged 2.67 blocks per set while tallying three solo stops. Holly ranks first in the conference in blocks per set with 1.42.
 
C-USA Setter of the Week – Carly Graham, Rice, 5Sr., Spring, Texas
Graham averaged 10.8 assists per set across five sets as she led the Owls back from a 2-0 deficit against UTEP. The two-time C-USA Setter of the Year totaled 54 assists, her second-most this year and the fourth time she tallied at least 50 assists. She also added four digs and two kills as Rice won its 11th consecutive match.
 
C-USA Freshman of the Week – Sara Pustahija, UTEP, Fr., Belgrade, Serbia
Pustahija tallied 19 kills over five sets against No. 22 Rice on Saturday. The freshman starter was the top player between the two teams in kills while hitting .372. The native of Belgrade, Serbia, had an all-around performance putting up 21.0 points with two blocks, an ace and seven digs.
