DALLAS – Conference USA tabbed 22 student-athletes to its 2022 C-USA Women’s Soccer All-Academic Teams Friday morning. Ten schools are represented with Rice, UAB, UTSA and WKU each having three student athletes earn sports on the lists, while Charlotte, FIU, Florida Atlantic, LA Tech, Middle Tennessee and UTEP are highlighted as well.
Three individuals pick up their third career all-academic recognition, led by three-time first-team honoree Julia Patrum of Charlotte. The senior from Concord, N.C., boasts a 3.91 GPA in psychology in addition to her 31 points on the pitch in 42 starts for the 49ers.
Rice’s Bella Killgore (3.68, Chemical Engineering) and Delaney Schultz (3.65, Computer Science/Cognitive Sciences) also garner their third academic all-conference nod. A four-time C-USA Goalkeeper of the Week, Killgore is tied for the league lead with seven clean sheets on the year. The Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, Schultz paces C-USA with three game-winning goals on the year.
Additionally, five more student-athletes grabbed their second all-academic honor in LA Tech’s Josie Studer (3.81, Marketing), UTEP’s Tessa Carlin (3.88, Biology), UTSA’s Alissa Stewart (4.00, Economics) and Jil Schneider (3.97, Business Management), and WKU’s Ansley Cate (3.95, Exercise Science).
Fourteen of the 22 honorees own a GPA of at least 3.90, including four with perfect 4.00 marks in LA Tech’s Maci Geltmeier (Marketing), UTSA’s Alissa Stewart (Economics), UAB’s Carlyn Presley (Computer Science) and WKU’s Lily Rummo (Psychology).
The 2022 C-USA Women’s Soccer Championship will be held November 2-6 in Charlotte, N.C.
