DALLAS – After winning their divisions in the regular season, North Texas and Middle Tennessee will be the No. 1 seeds at the 2022 Heritage Landscape Supply Group C-USA Basketball Championships in Frisco, Texas. The Mean Green won the West Division with a conference record of 16-2 and an overall mark of 23-5, while the Blue Raiders took the East Division with a 13-5 league record and went 22-9 overall.  As the top seeds, North Texas and Middle Tennessee will have a double-bye, opening the championship in the quarterfinals on Thursday, March 10. This year’s championship features all 14 teams and begins Tuesday, March 8 at Ford Center at The Star.

The other teams receiving double-byes are No. 2 seeds Western Kentucky and UAB. The Hilltoppers closed the regular season at 11-7 in conference, winning nine of their last 10 games to finish with a 19-12 record, while the Blazers were 14-4 in league and had C-USA best 24 wins on the year going 24-7.
 
The Championship begins with a pair of first round round games on Tuesday night as No. 6 FIU and No. 7 Marshall will face off in an East Division clash at 6:30 p.m. CT on Court A. In the W, No. 7 Southern Miss and No. 6 UTSA meet at 7 p.m. CT on Court B.  FIU and Marshall went 2-0 against the Herd, while UTSA and Southern Miss split their meetings, each winning their contest on the road.
 
Wednesday’s four-game action begins at 5:30 p.m. CT on Court A when the East No. 4 seed Charlotte squares off with West No. 5 Rice.  Charlotte claimed a 67-64 victory in the team’s lone meeting this season on the road at Rice
 
Next door on Court B, West No. 3 seed LA Tech meets the winner of the FIU and Marshall showdown at 6 p.m. 
 
West No. 4 seed UTEP will face East No. 5 Old Dominion at 8 p.m. on Court A. UTEP brought home a 78-70 victory from Norfolk early in January in the team’s only face off.
 
East No. 3 seed Florida Atlantic will close out Wednesday evening play at 8:30 p.m. CT on Court B, facing the winner of the UTSA/Southern Miss matchup.
 
In Thursday's quarterfinal round, West No. 1 North Texas will take on the winner of the Charlotte/Rice game at 5:30 p.m. on Court A and East No. 2 WKU will face LA Tech, FIU or Marshall beginning at 6 p.m. on Court B. East No. 1 seed Middle Tennessee will battle the winner of UTEP and Old Dominion at 8 p.m. on Court A, while West No. 2 seed UAB will close out Thursday night against Florida Atlantic, UTSA or Southern Miss at 8:30 p.m. on Court B.
 
Coverage of the first and second rounds will be available through ESPN+, while the four quarterfinal games will be available on Stadium.  The semifinal games will be shown on CBS Sports Network at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. (CT). While CBS Sports Network will also broadcast the championship game on Saturday, beginning at 7:30 p.m. (CT).
