FRISCO, Texas - In a back and forth battle, the Blazers from UAB surged past the East Division's No. 4 seed WKU, 74-62, in Wednesday’s second round of the 2022 Heritage Landscape Supply Group Conference USA Basketball Championships from the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco. UAB’s largest lead of the night was 12 points toward the end of the fourth quarter and utilized a balanced attack with four players in double figures and production off the bench with 34 points.

Margaret Whitley played a big role for the Blazers with 16 points, while Kylee Schneringer also provided a strong showing with 17 points in 26 minutes off the bench. UAB advances to play the West Division's No. 1 seed, Louisiana Tech, at 1:30 p.m. CT on Thursday on Stadium.
