VB: September 5 Players of the Week

DALLAS - Charlotte’s Emani’ Foster who averaged 5.67 kills per set over three matches in UGA’s Bulldog Classic, Rice’s Nia McCardell who had a total of 47 digs at the Oregon Invitational, Middle Tennessee’s Taylor Eisert earned Miami Invitational All-Tournament honors after having 125 assists in three matches, and Adri Rhoda of Middle Tennessee, who had 30 kills across 11 sets, earned the second 2022 Conference USA Volleyball Player of the Week honors, presented by Blenders Eyewear.

Foster earned Offensive Player of the Week, McCardell was selected as Defensive Player of the Week, Eisert was named Setter of the Week and Rhoda was the Freshman of the Week.
 
C-USA Offensive Player of the Week – Emani’ Foster, Charlotte, Jr., Henderson, N.C.
Foster repeats as the Offensive Player of the Week after putting up another monster weekend with 68 kills over three matches in UGA's Bulldog Classic. Starting Friday with the host Bulldogs in a tight three-set match, Foster had 17 kills with a .351 hitting percentage adding four digs, a pair of aces and a block. On Saturday, the Junior from Henderson, North Carolina, put down a match-high 25 kills hitting .400 in a four-set defeat to Texas Tech along with four aces and 21 total digs. In a five-set win over the College of Charleston, she had 26 kills and 13 digs to complete her stellar weekend. Foster averaged 5.67 kills, 6.21 points and 2.08 digs per set across 12 sets of action in Athens over the weekend.
 
C-USA Defensive Player of the Week – Nia McCardell, Rice, Jr., Missouri City, Texas
McCardell also repeats as the Defensive Player of the Week continuing her stellar early season play along the Owls backline by amassing 47 digs across eight sets as the Owls went 1-1 at the Oregon Invitational. In Rice's 3-2 loss to the No. 18 Ducks, McCardell collected a season-high 32 digs, the second-most by a C-USA player this season and the second-most in her career. She also totaled 15 digs in Rice's sweep of UC Davis. The Junior from Missouri City, Texas, currently ranks second in C-USA in digs per set with 4.89.

C-USA Setter of the Week – Taylor Eisert, Middle Tennessee, Jr., Louisville, Kentucky
Eisert was named a Miami Invitational All-Tournament member after helping push the Blue Raiders to the highest single-match hitting percentage in the conference this season, the program’s highest hitting percentage in the 25 point era and the second highest in all-time program history against Miami (Ohio) with .532. In the sweep over Miami (Ohio), the Native of Louisville, Kentucky, had 40 assists, the highest three set total in the conference this season. Eisert went 14-0-29 on the attack for a .483 hitting percentage which led her to have the highest kill amount and hitting percentage in conference this week for setters. She also had a career-high seven kills on a .583 attack percentage against Marshall.

C-USA Freshman of the Week – Adri Rhoda, Middle Tennessee, Fr., Hutchinson, Minnesota
Rhoda had an excellent weekend after having 30 kills across 11 sets at the Miami Invitational. She had a career high 12 kills with a .800 hitting percentage in a sweep over Miami (Ohio) which is the highest in the conference this season. The native of Hutchinson, Minnesota, is now tied for second in highest hitting percentage in program single-match history. Her performance ultimately helped push the Blue Raiders to achieve an all-time team high hitting percentage of .532. Rhoda also had a career high in blocks with four in a four-set win over Bellarmine.
