WBB: Dec. 4 Players of the Week

DALLAS – MTSU’s Ta’Mia Scott and Liberty’s Asia Boone earned Conference USA Women’s Basketball weekly honors. The 2023-24 Players of the Week are presented by Blenders Eyewear and are voted on by the league’s sports information directors.

CUSA Player of the Week – Ta’Mia Scott, MTSU – So. – G – Clarksville, Tenn.
Scott becomes the third Lady Raider in four weeks to be crowned CUSA Player of the Week after leading MTSU to a 1-1 week including a dominant 70-45 win at Houston. The sophomore guard tallied her first career double-double in their contest at Houston, posting 18 points, a career-high 11 boards and a career-high five steals in 40 minutes of action. Scott followed that performance with 20 points against Belmont, marking her third 20-point game this season. She is one of five Lady Raiders averaging double-digits in scoring (13.3) and has recorded double-figures in scoring in each of the last five games.

CUSA Freshman of the Week – Asia Boone, Liberty – Fr. – G – San Diego, Calif.
Boone was sensational in the Lady Flames’ 67-53 win over the Sun Belt preseason favorite, James Madison. The freshman from San Diego set career-highs for points (17) and three-pointers made (3) while scoring six points during a 20-3 run which erased an early double-digit deficit. Boone tacked on three rebounds, five assists, one steal and a 50 percent clip from the field (6-of-12). She is the second Lady Flame to be named Freshman of the Week in 2023-24.
