SB: Bracket Announced for 2023 C-USA Softball Championship

DALLAS – Following the league’s final regular-season games, the field is set for the 2023 Conference USA Softball Championship. Charlotte earned the top seed after ending the year with a 32-19 overall record and a 16-7 mark in league play.
 
The 49ers, along with No. 2 UAB (29-23, 16-8 C-USA) received double byes to day two of the tournament on Thursday, May 11, while No. 3 North Texas (32-21, 16-8 C-USA) and No. 4 Florida Atlantic (33-18, 15-9 C-USA) advance to the double-elimination portion of Wednesday’s games.  
 
This year’s championship features the top eight squads and begins with two single-elimination contests on Wednesday at Dr. Billy Bundrick Field on the campus of Louisiana Tech in Ruston, La.
 
The event gets underway with No. 6 seed Middle Tennessee (34-17, 13-10 C-USA) versus No. 7 seed LA Tech (32-23, 13-11 C-USA) at Noon CT. The Blue Raiders took 2-3 from the Lady Techsters in Ruston back on March 25-26.
 
The action continues at 2:30 p.m. CT with No. 5 seed WKU (29-22, 14-9 C-USA) taking on No. 8 seed FIU (24-26, 10-14 C-USA). The Hilltoppers won the season series versus the Panthers with a pair of wins in South Beach last weekend.
 
UNT will face the winner between MTSU and LA Tech at 5 p.m. CT Wednesday, and FAU awaits the winner between WKU and FIU at 7:30 p.m. CT.
 
Coverage for all games leading up to the championship game will be available through ESPN+ with the title game set to air on CBS Sports Network.
