DALLAS – WKU’s Abby Wiedermann and Maddie Davis and Liberty’s Halle Engle earned Conference USA Women’s Soccer Player of the Week honors.
 
Offensive Player of the Week – Halle Engle, Liberty – R-Sophomore – Mechanicsburg, Pa.
Engle was named the Offensive Player of the Week after she registered the opening and game-winning goal in a 2-1 Liberty (13-1-4, 5-1-2 CUSA) win over MTSU. She netted the opening goal in the first six minutes of the match and tallied the game-winner with a clean strike off the crossbar in the 82’ minute. Engle leads CUSA and ranks second nationally with six game-winning goals.
 
Defensive Player of the Week – Abby Wiedermann, WKU – Freshman – St. Louis, Mo.
Wiedermann was sensational on the back line for a WKU (3-7-5, 1-2-5 CUSA) defense that held the top scoring offense in the league to nothing on Sunday. The freshman defender had the assignment to cover FIU’s Noemi Paquin and held her to one shot on goal. Wiedermann’s performance was key in allowing WKU to draw against FIU.
 
Goalkeeper of the Week – Maddie Davis, WKU – R-Junior – Waterloo, Ill.
Davis boasts her second weekly honor after holding the high-powered FIU offense scoreless in their 0-0 draw on Sunday afternoon. Her effort resulted in her sixth clean sheet of the season, helping the Lady Toppers gain a crucial point heading into the final week of the campaign. The redshirt junior collected one save and several other stoppages in the contest.
