VB: UTEP’s Weaver, WKU’s Cox Earn AVCA All-American Honorable Mention

2024 Division I AVCA All-American Awards

DALLAS – UTEP’s Kaya Weaver and WKU’s Kaylee Cox were named 2024 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-American Honorable Mention on Wednesday.

Weaver earned her first AVCA All-American honor of her career, as the junior middle blocker led the Miners to a record-breaking 27-6 season, which included the program’s first-ever NCAA Tournament berth. Weaver was recently named Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year, earned First Team All-Conference honors and was selected to the AVCA Southwest All-Region First Team.

Cox also received her first AVCA Honorable Mention All-American nod. She continues to add to her stellar season as she was named Conference USA Alyssa Cavanaugh Player of the Year, Tournament MVP and earned First Team All-Conference Honors. Additionally, Cox was selected to the All-South Region First Team for the second consecutive year. She was recently drafted on November 25 by the Columbus Fury to play in the Pro Volleyball Federation.
