HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – No. 6 New Mexico State (13-17) defeated No. 3 FIU (20-11) 63-58 in the quarterfinal round of the 2024 CUSA Basketball Championships on Thursday afternoon at Propst Arena at the Von Braun Center.
 
Junior forward Fanta Gassama was sensational for the Aggies finishing with a career-high 20 points while grabbing 17 rebounds and going a perfect 8-of-8 from the field and 4-for-4 from the charity stripe. Molly Kaiser also tallied a game-high 22 points in the winning effort.
 
NM State will take on No. 2 Liberty on Friday at 8 p.m. CT in the final semifinal matchup.
