BOWL: 2024 All-Academic Team Announced

DALLAS – Conference USA named six student-athletes to its 2024 CUSA Women’s Bowling All-Academic Team, the league announced Friday morning. Jacksonville State and Youngstown State saw two of its members make their way on the list. Athletes from Louisiana Tech and Vanderbilt also earned scholastic recognition.
 
Jax State’s Maranda Pattison and Rebecca Hagerman have similar academic careers as they are both graduate students working towards their masters in Integrated Studies. Each Gamecock had impressive 4.0 GPAs this academic school year. Hagerman is a two-time GLVC Scholar Athlete of the Year and two-time recipient of the NCAA’s Elite 90 Academic Recognition Award. Both athletes fell in the top three of the NTCA Player Composite Performance Index (PCPI) this season.
 
Representing LA Tech, senior Allie Leindecker secures her spot on the All-Academic Team. Leindecker is a four-time recipient of the CUSA Commissioner’s Honor Roll and the Southland Bowling Academic Honor Roll. She has earned three NTCA All-America Honors and 21 All-Tournament honors in her career.
 
Vanderbilt’s Victoria Varano boasts a 3.82 GPA, studying Human & Organizational Development. The sophomore finished 10th place individually as she bowled 13 strikes in a row at the Stallings Invitational (212.00). She was also part of the program’s seventh 300 Baker game in history at the Mid-Winter Invite.
 
Youngstown State’s Madyson Marx and Kirsten Moore earned CUSA All-Academic honors. Marx is a Criminal Justice major and holds a 3.94 GPA. The senior is a five-time member of the President’s List (4.0) and has been on the Dean’s List in all seven of her semesters at YSU. She was named MVP and individual champion at the Ladyjack Classic. Marx ranks 13th in the country in individual scoring with an average of 20.84 and is seventh in strike percentage. Moore holds a perfect 4.0 GPA as she earns her masters in English. She is also a five-time member of the President’s List and Dean’s List. On the bowling season, the graduate student has the fourth-best traditional format average in the country (21.47) and has been named the MVP and individual champion at two tournaments.
