HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – For the third time in four years, MTSU captures the Conference USA Women’s Basketball Championship with a 67-51 win over Liberty on Saturday night at Propst Arena at the Von Braun Center. Senior guard Savannah Wheeler wins Tournament MVP after averaging 15.7 and 6.3 assists in three games.
 
The Lady Raiders created separation after outscoring Liberty 22-9 in the second quarter as Jalynn Gregory scored eight of those points. MTSU becomes the second team in CUSA history to complete an unbeaten conference season and win the league’s tournament.
 
MTSU will await their NCAA Tournament draw, which will be decided on Selection Sunday at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN.
