MBB: Bracket Announced for 2024 CUSA Basketball Championships

DALLAS – Following the league’s final regular-season games, the field is set for the 2024 Conference USA Basketball Championships. Sam Houston earned the top seed after ending the year with a 20-11 overall record and a 13-3 mark in league play.
 
The event marks the first of a multi-year agreement at VBC Propst Arena in Huntsville, Ala., and features all nine teams and begins with a first-round game at 8 p.m. CT Tuesday between No. 8 Jax State (14-17, 6-10 CUSA) and No. 9 FIU (10-21, 5-11 CUSA).
 
The Bearkats will face the winner between the Gamecocks and the Panthers to open Wednesday’s quarterfinal action at 5:30 p.m. The second game on Wednesday will feature No. 2 LA Tech (22-9, 12-4 CUSA) taking on No. 7 MTSU (13-18, 7-9 CUSA) at 8 p.m.
 
The quarterfinals continue Thursday with No. 4 Liberty (18-13, 7-9 CUSA) challenging No. 5 seed UTEP (16-15, 7-9 CUSA) at 5:30 p.m., followed by No. 3 WKU (19-11, 8-8 CUSA) versus No. 6 NM State (13-18, 7-9 CUSA) at 8 p.m.
 
The semifinals will take place at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Friday, and the championship final will tip off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
