DALLAS – LA Tech swept this week’s awards with Brayden Vining earning the men’s athlete of the week and freshman of the week honors, Delany Lopez earning the women’s honors and Mallory Swint earning the women’s freshman honors.
 
Men’s Athlete & Freshman of the Week – Brayden Vining, LA Tech – Fr. – Bullard, Texas
Vining ran the 5k on Thursday for the first time in his collegiate career, seeing his first collegiate victory and leading the men to a team win at the Grambling XC Invite. For just his second outing as a Bulldog, Vining competed well, finishing five seconds ahead of second place.
 
Women’s Athlete of the Week – Delaney Lopez, LA Tech – So. – Humble, Texas
Lopez won her first collegiate cross country meet at the Grambling XC Invite on Thursday, helping lead the women to a team win as well. It was her fourth career finish among the top 20 in a cross country event and was just her fourth time running the 5k distance. 
 
Women’s Freshman of the Week – Mallory Swint, LA Tech – Fr. – Shreveport, La.
Swint saw her best career finish in just her third collegiate event and second time running the 5k, crossing the line in fifth place at the Grambling XC Invite. She played a pivotal role in the Bulldogs’ team win over Southern and Grambling.
