VB: October 27 Players of the Week

DALLAS – NM State’s Maggie Lightheart, FIU’s Magda Stambrowska and Rebekah Pfefferkorn, along with Kennesaw State’s Kaeley Walz earned Conference USA Volleyball Player of the Week honors.

CUSA Offensive Player of the Week – Maggie Lightheart– Jr. – OH – Las Cruces, N.M.
Lightheart put together the best offensive performance of any Aggie this season, leading NM State (13-10, 6-4 CUSA) to two wins over MTSU. The junior racked up 42 kills in eight sets for an average of 5.25 per frame while boasting a .313 hitting percentage. On Friday, she tallied 23 kills on a .429 clip to earn the highest single-match kill total by anyone on the 2025 squad. The third-year Aggie paced the offense while also playing six rotations enroute to a pair of double-doubles. Amid her career-best showing on Friday, Lightheart notched 12 digs before adding 11 more on Saturday, averaging 2.88 per set. The Mayfield High School product rounded out her weekend with four blocks and two aces.
 
CUSA Defensive Player of the Week – Magda Stambrowska, FIU – Sr. – MB – Katowice, Poland  
Stambrowska posted 19 blocks in three matches this week, while adding 24 kills. The senior middle blocker had 14 blocks in the Panthers (14-9, 8-2 CUSA) two wins on the road at Liberty.  She recorded a season-high of eight blocks on Friday and tallied six on Saturday. Stambrowska ranks second on team in blocks (52) and leads with 32 blocks in CUSA play.
 
CUSA Setter of the Week – Kaeley Walz, Kennesaw State – So. – Louisville, Ky.   
Walz shined from her setter role while playing in a 6-2 system in Kennesaw State’s (14-6, 8-2 CUSA) weekend sweep over Delaware, averaging 7.9 assists per set. In Friday's win over the Hens, she dished out 41 total assists in the 5-set win. On Saturday, the sophomore posted 30 assists. For the week, she had 71 assists, while also adding two kills, six aces, 14 digs and one block.
 
CUSA Freshman of the Week – Rebekah Pfefferkorn, FIU – OH – Cypress, Texas  
Pfefferkorn racked up 38 kills over the week, including double-digit performances in the two-game sweep at Liberty. She tallied 16 kills with two blocks on Saturday and posted 14 kills with a .500 hitting percentage with four digs on Friday. Pfefferkorn also recorded eight kills against FGCU on Tuesday.
