Blair Baugus earned Conference USA Women’s Basketball weekly honors. The 2025-26 Players of the Week are voted on by the league’s sports information directors.
CUSA Player of the Week – Fanta Kone, Sam Houston – Sr. – G – Bamako, Mali
Kone set an SHSU (2-1) and CUSA single-game record with 12 steals in the Bearkats' 78-44 road win at UAPB, breaking the previous record of 11 set by WKU's Josie Gilvins last season against FIU. Her 12 steals are the second most of any player in the country so far this season, trailing only Notre Dame's Hannah Hidalgo who had 16 steals in the Fighting Irish's win over Akron. Offensively, she also hit eight of 11 shots from the floor to set a new career high with 18 points, while adding seven assists.
CUSA Freshman of the Week – Blair Baugus, MTSU – G – Waynesboro, Tenn.
Baugus earns her second consecutive Freshman of the Week honor after averaging 14 points and 9.5 rebounds per game for the Lady Raiders (2-2). At Tennessee Tech, the freshman guard tallied a career-high 12 rebounds to go along with six points, two blocks and two steals. At Rice, she posted a career-high 22 points, the highest by any CUSA freshman this season. The Waynesboro, Tenn., native is the only CUSA freshman to rank in the top-five in scoring (12.8 ppg), rebounding (10.5 rpg), steals (2.75 spg) and blocks (9).
