DALLAS – Conference USA announced Monday its weekly award winners for week 10. The weekly awards are voted on by a panel of the league’s media.
Offensive Player of the Week – Evan Dickens, Liberty – R-So. – RB – Roswell, Ga.
Dickens had a banner game and sparked Liberty’s (4-4, 3-1 CUSA) best offensive performance of the season, finishing the game with a career-high 217 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns in a 59-30 victory over Delaware. It marked his second 100-yard game of the season and first 200-yard performance of his collegiate career. Dickens’ four touchdowns matched his season total coming into the game and tied a Williams Stadium single game record. He is the first Flame since Malik Willis in the 2020 Cure Bowl against Coastal Carolina to rush for four touchdowns in a game. Dickens rushed for three touchdowns in the first half, becoming the first Liberty player to rush for three first-half scores against an FBS opponent.
Defensive Player of the Week – Tywon Christopher, Kennesaw State – R-Fr. – LB – Thomasville, Ga.
Thrust into his first career start due to injury, Christopher had a career game as Kennesaw State (6-2, 4-0 CUSA) won its sixth-straight game, 33-20, against UTEP on Tuesday. He recorded a team-best 12 tackles on the night, including a tackle for loss. Christopher forced the fumble that was scooped and scored with on UTEP’s first offensive drive of the game to give KSU its first points. Maynard is currently second in the country in punting with 48.8 yards per punt, and he is on pace to set the WKU (7-2, 5-1 CUSA) record for punting average in a season.
