DALLAS – With a 37-34 walk-off victory on Saturday, Jacksonville State secured hosting duties for the 2025 Air National Guard CUSA Championship Game and will host rival Kennesaw State at 6 p.m. CT next Friday from AmFirst Stadium in Jacksonville, Ala., on CBS Sports Network.

The Gamecocks close out the regular season 8-4 overall and 7-1 in league play, while Kennesaw State topped Liberty, 48-42, in double overtime to move to 9-3 and 7-1 in CUSA action. Jax State holds the tiebreaker over the Owls with its 35-26 victory in Jacksonville on Nov. 15.

Jax State’s Garrison Rippa knocked a 28-yard attempt through as time expired to seal the win. For the fourth-straight game, quarterback Caden Creel (143 yds, TD) and running back Cam Cook (137 yds, TD) each eclipsed 100 yards rushing as the Gamecocks racked up 293 yards on the ground.

Kennesaw State quarterback Amari Odom willed his squad to a shootout road win, completing his only two pass attempts in overtime for two 25-yard touchdown passes to Gabe Benyard and Christian Moss. Odom threw for 240 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 72 yards and another score.

The 2025 Air National Guard CUSA Championship marks the 21st annual football championship game, and Jax State becomes the third school to host the game in back-to-back-seasons, joining WKU (2015-16) and UTSA (2021-22).
