WBB: LA Tech, NM State Earn WNIT Bids

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Two Conference USA Women’s Basketball teams earned bids to the Women’s Basketball National Invitational Tournament (WNIT) following their regular season campaigns. Louisiana Tech and NM State will be extending their seasons with games starting Thursday, March 20.  

LA Tech will make its sixth appearance in the WNIT after finishing the season with an overall record of 16-15 and an 8-10 league mark. The Lady Techsters are led by CUSA Freshman of the Year and First Team All-Conference member, Paris Bradley. LA Tech earned a first-round bye and is set to take on the winner of Texas Southern (16-15) and Saint Mary’s (14-16).

NM State finished the regular season with a 17-15 record and were 10-8 during league play. The Aggies boasts CUSA Player of the Year Molly Kaiser, who ranks 15th in the nation in points per game with 20.7. NM State will take on Pacific (15-18) in Stockton, California on Thursday at 7 p.m. CT.  

Powered by Triple Crown Sports, the WNIT enters its 27th season of rewarding the depth found in women's college basketball. The Postseason WNIT is the longest current running postseason event for women's college basketball, in addition to the NCAA Tournament, and has afforded hundreds of opportunities for schools in every conference to play in the postseason.
