SB: LA Tech’s Heng, Liberty’s Roupe Earn 2025 Rawlings Gold Glove Awards

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A pair of sensational CUSA outfielders have been awarded 2025 NCAA Division I Rawlings Gold Glove Awards presented by the NFCA, announced Wednesday by the organization. LA Tech’s Elena Heng and Liberty’s Rachel Roupe are the league’s first recipients of the award.

Heng started all 57 games in left field and posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage on 114 chances with 107 putouts and seven outfield assists. She was one of just three qualified players in the league to record a flawless mark in the field. Heng was a member of the CUSA All-Freshman team.

Roupe started 64 games in right field and recorded a .987 fielding percentage on 78 chances with 73 putouts, four outfield assists and three double plays. She made one mishap in the eighth game of the season and was perfect from there on out. Roupe’s laundry list of honors includes two Second Team All-America nods, CUSA Player of the Year and First Team All-Mid-Atlantic Region.

Recipients of the Rawlings Gold Glove Award, presented by the NFCA, were selected by the NFCA’s NCAA Division I All-America Committee, following regional voting to identify the finalists at each position. The group utilized fielding statistics and school-submitted video to closely examine finalists and select the winners at every defensive position.
