Offensive Player of the Week – Roman Gagliano, MTSU – R-So. – QB – Opelika, Ala.
Gagliano helped guide the Blue Raiders (3-3, 1-1 CUSA) to a 33-30 win over Delaware in its Weekday CUSA opener. He finished 22-32 through the air for 291 yards and three touchdowns as MTSU started 3-0 at home for the first time since the 2021 season. Gagliano added 22 rushing yards and a score on four carries. He was a perfect 6-6 passing in the third quarter, throwing for 148 yards and two touchdowns.
Defensive Player of the Week – Jared Lloyd, Missouri State – Gr. – LB – Daytona Beach, Fla.
Lloyd produced his fourth-straight double-figure tackle game in the Bears’ (2-4, 1-1) 24-21 triumph over Kennesaw State on Wednesday. Among his 10 tackles and five solo stops, one of the game’s most impactful solo tackles came on fourth-and-one on the Owls’ opening drive of the second half and forced a turnover on downs. Missouri State went on to score a go-ahead touchdown five plays later. The nation’s No. 2 tackler (11.7) has accounted for 51 total stops over the last four games and produced double-digit tackles in seven of the team’s last nine games dating back to last season.
Special Teams Player of the Week – Yousef Obeid, Missouri State – Sr. – K – Dearborn, Mich.
Obeid kicked the game-winning field goal as time expired to lift the Bears to a thrilling 24-21 win over defending CUSA champion Kennesaw State. He was a perfect 3-3 on field goal attempts on the night, matching a career high for most field goals in a game. Obeid also converted his only PAT of the game to give him 10 points in the game, which moved him into Missouri State’s career top 10 in scoring with 192 points.
Freshman of the Week – Tyler Bell, Delaware – Fr. – QB – East Rutherford, N.J.
Bell set the Delaware single-game passing yards record by a freshman (306) in his first-career start against Middle Tennessee. He completed 22-36 passes with two passing touchdowns, 15 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown. The rookie signal caller became the first true-freshman gunslinger to start a regular-season game since Mike Connor did so on November 17, 2001, at Villanova. The 15-yard touchdown pass from
Bryson Graves to Bell was the first receiving TD by a Delaware QB since Trent Hurley caught one from WR Rob Jones for 13 yards at Villanova on November 11, 2013.
Offensive Lineman of the Week – Ryan Walker, Jax State – Jr. – RG – Alabaster, Ala.
Walker played every snap at right guard for the Gamecocks (5-2, 3-0 CUSA) in a 27-24 win over FIU on Tuesday. He was the highest-graded lineman on the roster and the second-highest in CUSA, posting a 76.1 overall PFF grade, which was highlighted by an 85.8 pass blocking grade. Walker’s pass block mark was also second among all CUSA linemen, and he didn’t allow a single pressure throughout the night. His group held FIU's pass rush to just one sack on the night and allowed quarterback Caden Creel to pass for 214 yards and rush for an additional 95.
