VB: October 5 Players of the Week

DALLAS – MTSU’s Michaela Dlouhá, Kennesaw State’s Olivia Burrage, Liberty’s Alison Bierwagen and Charli Crowson and WKU’s Eliza McKnight earned the Conference USA Volleyball Player of the Week honors.

CUSA Offensive Player of the Week – Michaela Dlouhá, MTSU – Sr. – MB – Pardubice, Czechia
Dlouhá was efficient on the offensive attack in the Blue Raiders 2-0 weekend over Delaware. She posted 24 kills on an impressive .625 hitting clip, while adding nine blocks and three service aces. Dlouhá had nine kills on a .667 hitting clip on Friday. She followed that performance up with a match-high 14 kills in a 3-0 sweep on Saturday.
 
CUSA Defensive Player of the Week – Olivia Burrage, Kennesaw State– 5th – MB – Jefferson, Ga.
Burrage led Kennesaw State and Conference USA with 15 blocks over eight sets, averaging a league-best 1.88 blocks per set. She finished with six more total blocks than any CUSA player on the week. She helped hold FIU to a .144 hitting percentage over the two-match weekend, including just .119 in Friday’s five-set match. Burrage recorded her second double-double of her career on Friday with 10 kills and 10 blocks, while hitting .467. She added five more blocks in Saturday’s 3-0 victory over FIU. She finished the weekend with 18 kills and a .371 hitting percentage. 
 
CUSA Co-Setter of the Week – Alison Bierwagen, Liberty – So. – DeLand, Fla.
Bierwagen led Liberty’s offense in a pair of 3-0 sweeps at Jax State. In a two-setter tandem with Charli Crowson, Bierwagen averaged 7.17 assists per set as the duo had a .518 set conversion rate. On Friday, she dished out 25 assists, nine digs and three aces. During Saturday’s 3-0 sweep, Bierwagen recorded 36 assists and nine digs as Liberty hit a season-best .454. Liberty's .454 hitting percentage was its best in any true road match in rally-scoring history since 2001. 
 
CUSA Co-Setter of the Week – Charli Crowson, Liberty – Jr. – College Station, Texas
Crowson was instrumental in Liberty’s pair of road wins against Jax State. She finished with 34 assists and 5.67 assists per set, while running a 6-2 with Alison Bierwagen. The duo combined for 12.84 assists per set and a .518 set conversion rate. During Friday’s 3-0 sweep, Crowson posted 16 assists, five digs and two aces. On Saturday, Liberty hit a season-best .454 hitting percentage, its best since 2001 as Crowson dished out 18 assists.  
 
CUSA Freshman of the Week – Eliza McKnight, WKU – OH/MB – Brentwood, Tenn.
McKnight earned her second consecutive Freshman of the Week honor after leading WKU to two wins over Missouri State, tallying 17 kills on a .593 hitting clip. She logged eight kills on Friday with a .538 hitting clip. On Saturday, the freshman put down nine kills with a match-best .643 hitting mark with zero attack errors. She ranks second in CUSA in hitting percentage with .417.
