HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – No. 4 Louisiana Tech (19-13, 11-9 CUSA) advances to the semifinal round, defeating No. 5 MTSU (17-15, 11-9 CUSA) 80-69 in the quarterfinal round of the 2026 Air National Guard CUSA Championship Thursday evening at Propst Arena at the Von Braun Center.
Reigning CUSA Player of the Week
AJ Bates paced the Bulldog offense with a game-high 29 points, while grabbing three rebounds and dishing out six assists. 10 of Bates’ 29 points came from the free throw line.
Avery Thomas II fell just shy of a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds.
DJ Dudley finished with 16 points on 6-12 shooting.
The Bulldogs are in the semifinals for the first time since the 2022 season when they defeated North Texas 42-36, finishing runner-up that year to UAB.
No. 4 LA Tech is set to face off with No. 9 Missouri State on Friday at 11:30 a.m. CT on
CBS Sports Network for a spot in the CUSA title game.
