LA Tech Head Coach Brooke Stoehr
Opening Statement…
“Yeah, just an unbelievably gritty, tough game, I think, by both teams. I think you have to give Liberty a lot of credit. I thought they forced tempo and played the pace that they wanted the game to be at for a majority of the game. And, can't say enough about the resilience and the toughness and grit of our group. To come back and defend the way they did in the second half, only giving up 17 points, and that's who this group has grown into all year long. We just said, stay true to who you are, and they did that beautifully, and it's a really, really fun thing to see when they celebrate each other and they play together with that toughness and that grit.”
LA Tech Guard Paris Bradley
On unity of sophomore class…
“I just feel like last year, we kind of clicked pretty early, and then just the decision to all come back together and play, like, play another year together, I think it's really something special, with our group, and it's something that you just don't see often. So just being with the core four sophomores who came back, you just, you gain so much chemistry and so much trust and belief in your teammates that way.”
LA Tech Forward Jordan Marshall
On resurgence of program…
“It means everything to me. And like Paris said, Paris came in day one, and she said that she wanted to get Louisiana Tech back to what it was, and we all kind of got behind her with that. I'm fully 100% behind her with that, and we just come out here every day and we compete. And we practice every day to our best ability, and we trust our coaches, we trust the people around us, and we love the community of Ruston. The community of Ruston has been behind us since day one, and I love that town, I love the people there, and they're behind us. I love wins, and the Louisiana Tech people know what that means.”
Liberty Head Coach Alexis Sherard
Opening Statement…
“Not the outcome that we wanted but just have to take our hats off to Brooke, and Louisiana Tech, coming in preseason number one. They earned that seed, and, you know, they proved to be the better team tonight. So, I'm very proud of our team, very proud of how we responded through the journey of our season. I'm just very optimistic of our future, and just very blessed to be coaching this group.”
