FAIRFAX, Va. – Liberty (26-7) advances to the second round of the National Invitational Tournament after defeating No. 3 George Mason (23-10) 77-71 in the first round at EagleBank Arena.

Brett Decker Jr. was only 1-6 from beyond the arc tonight but was able to drop 17 points on 7-16 shooting from the floor.
Colin Porter and
Zander Carter each made a huge impact with 10 points apiece.
After winning the CUSA regular season title for the second straight year and dropping its quarterfinal match in the CUSA tournament, Liberty is moving on to the second round and will take on the winner of No. 2 Nevada and Murray State on March 21
st or 22
nd.
