OTF: April 21 Athletes of the Week

DALLAS – Liberty received three Conference USA Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors, alongside Kennesaw State that received two and Middle Tennessee that picked up one honor.
 
Men's Track Athlete of the Week – Mustapha Bokpin, MTSU – So. – Accra, Grater Accra, Ghana
For his third-consecutive Track Athlete of the Week honor, Bokpin won the men's 200-meter with a time of 20.34 at the Georgia Tech Invitational. That time leads the conference and is tied for third-fastest in the NCAA. He was also part of the men’s 4x100 meter relay team that captured first place with a recorded time of 39.73.
 
Women's Track Athlete of the Week – Katrina Schlenker, Liberty – Sr. – Batavia, Ill.
Schlenker ran a personal-best 10:06.44 steeplechase to take 14th (seventh among collegiate runners) at the Bryan Clay Invitational. With that time, she ranks No. 1 in CUSA, No. 24 in the NCAA and No. 2 in program history for the Lady Flames.
 
Men's Field Athlete of the Week – Christian Hicks, Liberty – R-Sr. – Romney, W.Va.
Competing at the Virginia Challenge, Hicks was the discus runner-up (first among collegiate entrants) with a personal-best 59.31-meter (194-7) heave. He also took 11th in the shot put with an outdoor personal-best 17.65-meter (57-11) effort. Both marks top CUSA this season, while the discus mark sits No. 20 nationally. On Liberty's all-time list, Hicks moved up to No. 4 for the discus and No. 8 for the shot put.
 
Women's Field Athlete of the Week – Sophie Gonzalez, Liberty – R-So. – Guatemala City, Guatemala
Gonzalez won the open women's hammer throw at the Virginia Challenge with a season-best mark of 62.08 meters (203-8). The performance ranks No. 2 in CUSA, ties for No. 32 nationally and is No. 4 in program history. That mark also just missed her own Guatemalan record of 62.28 meters (204-4).
 
Men's Freshman of the Week – Gage Voyles, Kennesaw State – Fr. – Dalton, Ga.
To earn his third outdoor weekly award recognition, Voyles won the high jump with a clearance of 2.21 meters (7-3) at the Georgia Tech Invitational. That mark ranks No. 1 in CUSA, No. 2 in the NCAA East Region and No. 4 in the NCAA this season. The freshman also established a new high jump program record.
 
Women's Freshman of the Week – Natalie Harris, Kennesaw State – Fr. – Kennesaw, Ga
At the Georgia Tech Invitational, Harris finished third in the 100-meter hurdles with a personal best time of 13.46 seconds. That time ranks No. 1 in CUSA and No. 40 in the NCAA East Region. She also ran the opening leg on the Owls 4x100m relay team that won with a time of 45.04 seconds.
