Bryannah Campos, along with WKU’s
Lauren Satterly, earned Conference USA Softball weekly honors.
Kyser garners Player of the Week honors, while Aragon is the Pitcher of the Week, and Strickland is the Freshman of the Week.
Player of the Week – Gracie Flores, LA Tech – R-So. – DP – Berthoud, Colo.
Flores had a big weekend at the plate in the Bulldogs’ (26-23, 12-12 CUSA) road sweep over Liberty this weekend, leading the way with a .500 batting average, five hits and five RBI. The redshirt sophomore started at DP in all three games and recorded at least one hit in each game while moving her hit streak to 15 games. Flores recorded three RBI and two hits in Saturday's win and provided two hits and two RBI in Sunday’s victory. She finished with one hit in the win on Friday night. Flores hit a two-RBI single in the top of the fifth inning on Sunday to score Tech’s first runs of the game as they scored nine unanswered to defeat Liberty, including six in the fifth.
Pitcher of the Week – Bryannah Campos, LA Tech – Freshman – San Antonio, Texas
Campos (7-3) was instrumental in the circle for LA Tech this weekend, picking up a pair of victories in relief to help LA Tech hand Liberty its first conference series sweep since 2015. The left-hander pitched 12.2 innings and posted a 2.21 ERA across three appearances, while lasting at least 4.0 innings in each outing. She allowed just six hits across three appearances, giving up four runs while striking out six. Campos logged 4.1 innings of relief on Friday night and held the Flames to just two hits and one run while fanning three. The freshman earned the win on Saturday, tossing 4.0 scoreless innings while allowing just two hits in Tech’s 10-0 shutout. With the Bulldogs down 4-0 on Sunday, Campos came in and went 4.1 innings to lead the Bulldogs to a sweep. She allowed just two hits and three runs while fanning six.
Freshman of the Week – Lauren Satterly, WKU – Utility – Taylorsville, Ky.
Satterly hit a staggering .571 over the weekend, leading the Hilltoppers (36-10, 18-6 CUSA) to the first 15-0 finish in home conference play in CUSA history. Of the 33 runs scored by WKU over the weekend, she drove in four while scoring six herself. Satterly slashed .571/.727/.714 over the three-game span with three singles and a double. She also drew three walks and did not strike out in 11 plate appearances. Her best game over the weekend was game one where she went 2-3 with an RBI. Satterly was also a perfect 2-2 with runners in scoring position and was 5-5 when in a position to advance runners.
